Regional Train the Trainer Event Calendar 2025

Entrepreneurs who are developing cutting edge technology may be eligible for research and development funding from a federal agency. The non-dilutive funding provided by the The Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) program is the primary starting point for small startups. It can be leveraged for rapid, higher than average growth for small innovative firms.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is for economic development organizations and their resource partners who would like to learn how their region can take advantage of this type of funding and how to develop an ecosystem that can support the innovators growth.

Part 1: Federal Funding Overview
General overview of Federal R&D funding, how SBIR opens doors, how to strategize to maximize awards, success stories.

Part 2: SBIR Train the Trainer Workshop
Geared toward advisors who work with small businesses, this focuses on how to identify appropriate small business applicants, guiding them through the process and where to turn to for help.
